How to Set Up Quad9

Windows 10 and above

  1. Open the Control Panel.

  2. Navigate to Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings.

  3. Right-click your active network connection and select Properties.

  4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.

  5. Choose "Use the following DNS server addresses" and enter 9.9.9.9 as the Preferred DNS server and 149.112.112.112 as the Alternate DNS server.

  6. Click OK to save the changes.

macOS

  1. Open System Preferences and go to Network.

  2. Select your network connection and click Advanced.

  3. Go to the DNS tab.

  4. Click the + button and add 9.9.9.9 and 149.112.112.112.

  5. Click OK and then Apply to save the settings.

iOS (iPhone/iPad)

  1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.

  2. Tap the information (i) icon next to your connected Wi-Fi network.

  3. Tap Configure DNS and select Manual.

  4. Add 9.9.9.9 and 149.112.112.112 as DNS servers.

  5. Tap Save.

Android

  1. Go to Settings > Network & internet > Advanced > Private DNS.

  2. Select the Private DNS provider hostname option.

  3. Enter dns.quad9.net and save the settings.

Linux

  1. Open a terminal window.
