Installation guideline for Autodesk AutoCAD (macOS - M series)

Autodesk AutoCAD, a flagship design and drafting software, revolutionises the realm of computer-aided design (CAD). Widely acclaimed in architecture, engineering, and construction industries, AutoCAD enables precise creation, modification, and documentation of 2D and 3D designs.

This guide will help you install Autodesk AutoCAD for macOS M1/M2 chip.

Installation Video

Create Autodesk account

Step 1: Go to Autodesk Registration Portal and fill in the fields below.

First name, Last name:	Your first and last name
Email:	Your TP mail account e.g “tpxxxxxx@mail.apu.edu.my “
Confirm email:	Type your TP mail again for confirmation
Password:	A strong password of your choice

Step 2: Click on the box to agree to the Autodesk Terms of Use and the Privacy Statement then click on Create account.

Step 3: An email will be sent to your TP mail account, click on Verify email.

Step 4: Click Done.

Download AutoCAD

Step 1: Go to download page. Look for “AutoCAD for Mac” and click on Get started.

Step 2: Select Student for “Educational Role” then select your date of birth and click Continue.

Step 3: Under the “School Address” section, fill in the below details.

Country:	“Malaysia”
Address:	“Jalan Teknologi 5”
City:	“Kuala Lumpur”
Postal code:	“57000”

Step 4: Under the “School Information” section, fill in the below details.

Institution type:	“University/Post-Secondary”
Name of educational institution:	“Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) (Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan)”
School website:	https://www.apu.edu.my/
Graduation date:	Your graduation date

Step 5: Click on the box to confirm that this information is accurate and matches the identification provided by my school. Then click Continue.

Step 6: After being verified, click Submit.

Step 7: Click Access products.

Step 8: Click on Get Autodesk software.

Step 9: Look for “AutoCAD for Mac” and click on Get started.

Step 10: Click Download.

Result: Autodesk_AutoCAD_2024.1_macOS.dmg will be downloaded.

Install AutoCAD

Step 1: Double click on Autodesk_AutoCAD_2024.1_macOS.dmg.

Step 2: Double click on Install Autodesk AutoCAD 2024 for Mac.

Step 3: Click Open.

Step 4: Click OK.

Step 5: Enter your device’s password and click OK.

Step 6: Click on I agree to the Terms of Use and click Next.

Step 7: Click on Macintosh HD - Data then click Install.

Step 8: Wait for it to install.

Step 9: Click Start.

Step 10: Click OK.

Step 11: Click on Sign in with your Autodesk ID.

Step 12: Click Go to product.

Step 13: Click on Open Autodesk Identity Manager.

Step 14: Click OK.

Result: AutoCAD has been installed and launched successfully.

Run AutoCAD

Step 1: Click on AutoCAD 2024 in Launchpad.

Result: AutoCAD 2024 will launch.
