Windows Update automatically installs important updates as they become available. When the Windows 10 Update is ready for your device, it will be available to download from the Windows Update page in Settings. Choose a time that works best for you to download the update. You may then need to restart your device and complete the installation.

To turn on Windows update in Windows 10

  1. Select the Start button, then select Settings > Windows Update.

  2. If you want to check for updates manually, select Check for updates.

  3. Select Advanced options, and then under Choose how updates are installed, select Automatic (recommended).

To install Windows update manually in Windows 10

  • Select Start  > Settings  > Windows Update , and then select Check for updates. If updates are available, install them.
