Installation guideline for Wireshark (macOS - M series)

Wireshark is a widely used, open source network analyzer that can capture and display real-time details of network traffic. It is particularly useful for troubleshooting network issues, analysing network protocols and ensuring network security.

This guide will help you install Wireshark on macOS M series.

Download Wireshark

Step 1: Go to the Wireshark download page. Scroll to find macOS Arm Disk Image, click on it.

Result: Wireshark 4.2.3 Arm 64.dmg will be downloaded.

Install Wireshark

Step 1: Double click on Wireshark 4.2.3 Arm 64.dmg.

Step 2: Drag and drop the Wireshark icon to the Applications icon.

Step 3: Double click on the Wireshark icon to launch it.

Step 4: Click Open.

Result: Wireshark has been installed and launched successfully.

Run Wireshark

Step 1: Go to Launchpad and click on the Wireshark icon.

Step 2: Click Open.

Result: Wireshark will launch.
