Installation guideline for Arduino IDE 2.3.2 (macOS - M series)

The Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment) is used to write the computer code and upload this code to the physical board. This guide will help you install Arduino IDE for macOS M1/M2 chip.

Download Arduino IDE

Step 1: Go to the Arduino download page.

Step 2: Click on macOS Apple Silicon, 11: “Big Sur” or newer, 64 bits.

Step 3: Click on Just Download.

Step 4: Click on Just Download.

Result: arduino-ide_2.3.2_macOS_arm64.dmg will be downloaded.


Install Arduino IDE

Step 1: Double click on arduino-ide_2.3.2_macOS_arm64.dmg.

Step 2: Drag the Arduino IDE icon to the Applications icon.

Step 3: Double click on the Arduino IDE icon to launch it.

Step 4: Click Open.

Step 5: Click OK.

Result: Arduino IDE has been successfully installed and launched.


Run Arduino IDE

Step 1: Click on the Arduino IDE icon in Launchpad.

Step 2: Click Open.

Result: Arduino IDE will launch.
