How to get free 1 year student license for Tableau?

 

The is a guide to get free 1 year student license for Tableau Desktop and access to eLearning courses related to Tableau Software for Data Science and Business Analytics.

Prerequisite

Please go to Academic Administration Helpdesk and open a ticket, requesting for a Reference Letter addressed to;

It takes 2-3 working days to issue reference letter.

  • Microsoft Windows 7 or newer (x64)

  • Intel or AMD Ryzen processors

  • 2 GB memory

  • 1.5 GB minimum free disk space

  • macOS, macOS Mojave 10.14, macOS Catalina 10.15 and Big Sur 11.4

  • Intel processors

  • M1 processors under Rosetta 2 emulation mode

  • 1.5 GB minimum free disk space

Instructions

Step 1 - Go to https://www.tableau.com/academic/students

Step 2 - Click on Get Tableau for Free or Free Student License on top right corner

 

Step 3 - Enter your Student details

Please enter your student email.

The email address is your TP number followed by the domain name of University (@mail.apu.edu.my).

For example, if your TP number is TP000123, your email address is TP000123@mail.apu.edu.my.

Step 4 - Click on Verify Student Status

Step 5 - Submit any document that clearly shows your name and specific affiliation. You need to submit a Reference Letter (recommended).

If you do not have a reference letter at the time of sign up for free license then, please go to Academic Administration Helpdesk and open a ticket, requesting for a Reference Letter addressed to;

Step 6 - Lookout for your inbox as you will receive an email from Tableau Academic Team with product key and free access to eLearning courses related to Tableau Software for Data Science and Business Analytics.

Step 7 - Download & Install Tableau Desktop and enter product key for 1 year free license activation.
